Meet Mary McCrystal, PhD, LMFT

Urban Wise Woman was born from a lifelong devotion to the sacred feminine, and the mystic realm which led me into a passion for the healing arts. I am called to help women remember who they are beneath the noise of modern life. My work bridges the ordinary reality with non-ordinary reality, bringing together personal alchemy, creative process, and soul-centered ritual to guide women back to their inner wisdom.

For more than three decades, I have walked with individuals and groups through the terrains of personal transformation, and self-discovery. My trainings span the lines between ordinary reality and non-ordinary, bridging the mystical world, with the modern. I am trained and initiated by somatic healers, mystics, and shamans—both western and nonwestern wisdom keepers, as well as indigenous medicine women/men. I am also an academic, a psychologist with a passion for understanding the mind and psyche. Alongside these, I bring a lifetime of creative practice and specialized teacher training in Intentional Creativity® , using art, myth, and image as pathways to self-understanding.

Urban Wise Woman is the weaving of all these threads — a place where the clinical meets the creative, where ritual meets reflection, and where the wisdom of the psyche and the body are honored together.

I am called to this work because I believe healing is not only about symptom relief, but about soul reclamation — remembering the beauty, intuition, and strength that have always lived within. Whether through one-on-one consultation, women’s circles, or creative alchemy workshops, my intention is to help women gather their scattered parts, connect with their inner knowing, and grow into the fullness of who they are.
